What are Rudraksha Beads? Where are they available?

Rudraksha beads, botanically known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb are the seeds of the Rudraksha fruit from Rudraksha trees. Rudraksha trees are found mainly in South Eastern Asian Islands of Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Bali, Irian Jaya, Timor of what is known as modern day Indonesia and parts of South Asian Kingdom of Nepal, around 70% of the Rudraksha trees are found in Indonesia, 25% from Nepal and 5% in India. There are clefts on the surface of the beads and they are called Mukhis.

Can all wear Rudraksha?

Can we wear Rudraksha in ring?

No, please avoid, because hands get dirty often. Purity of the bead gets affected.

According to our holy books Rudraksha can be worn at all times. Some books say that Rudraksha could be taken off during sex, menstrual cycles, during visit to funeral grounds and during Bowel movements. Also it is advisable to take off beads while taking bath as excess soap dehydrates the beads of the natural Oil. They need to be worn with faith, respect and love.

Is it that only Hindus can wear?

No, all can wear. Sun, Moon, Stars, Rivers and Plants have No Religion.

Could be any number of years. If well protected, can be passed on from generation to generation.

In what other way can Rudraksha control blood pressure?

Take a glass of water. Dip two pieces of five Mukhis in it, preferably after sun set. Drink it when you get up in the morning, before any other intake. Do not use copper glasses.

Does Rudraksha help Sudden Nervousness?

Yes. Keep a big size 5 Mukhi Rudraksha with you. Whenever you feel nervous due to sudden shock and feel cold, just hold it tight in your right palm for ten minutes. You will regain your confidence and body will start warming up.

Can the family members keep interchanging Neck Malas, Japa Malas or Rudraksha beads?

No. There is a relationship between the wearer and Rudraksha, which is very private and must not be shared. But it can be willed and passed on to the next generation.

Should Rudraksha be worn in thread, silver or Gold?

Rudraksha is best if worn in a metal be it silver or Gold or copper or Punchdhatu. It has electrical and magnetic properties which enhances when worn with metal. This was proved conclusively by scientific tests in Book Rudraksa by Suhas Rai. Also one can see saints and yogis of India wearing rosaries strung in silver or copper. Japa is best done with Punch Mukhi mala made in copper.

Is it true that out of hundreds of beads from a tree only a few are magical ones?

This is not correct at all. A bead that is high in quality, uniform and free from damages is the perfect bead. Puranas and Shastras do not talk of this and this is just said by suppliers to instill fear and indecisiveness in the client.

What is the life of a Rudraksha bead? Can ladies and Non Hindus wear Rudraksha?

The life of Rudraksha beads is very long. If well protected, they can be passed on for generations. Anyone irrespective of religion, caste, creed or sex can wear the Rudraksha beads. However, ladies should not wear these beads during the menstrual cycle.
